Gun Control If gun control is altered, then we will have less criminals roaming the streets. Access to firearms makes murder easy, efficient, and nonparallel, which increases the chance a crime will be committed. Josh Sugarcane, the Executive Director of the Violence Policy Center has once said, “We recoil in horror and search for explanations, but we never face up to the obvious preventive measure: a ban on the easy killing machines that makes murder and robbery so easy. Allowing uncertified people to carry guns puts all others at risk and it can result in self-harming injuries caused by unintentional accidents, in which the worst case scenario can end with one or more people involved dead. Gun violence in America kills more than 30,000 and injures almost 70,000 each year. Firearms can be misused and abused, which is why gun control is a necessity. Gun control is government regulation Of the manufacture, sale, and possession of firearms. Gun control can limit the access of criminals getting their hands on firearms, which will lead to the decrease of violent crime.
Our nation has suffered so much from misuse of firearms. The problem isn’t that people own guns, it’s the fact that people use hem in a way that the companies did not intend them to be used. If people would use them for their actual purpose, we would never have to face the problems of murder and mass shootings. Most gun owners are responsible and law-abiding citizens who use their guns safely, but on the other hand you have the ones who steal guns and use them for bad things.
President Obama thinks that if we all work on this together it could potently save lives one at a time but this will be a very long time depending on if everyone helps to defeat the bad use of guns. People are saying that guns and criminals aren’t really he problem because anyone can commit a crime. Not every person who was a gun is a criminal, anyone at any age can be a criminal especially with a gun all it takes is to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. People just need to take the time to lock up or put away the guns safely after every time they use it.
That way no one can break into a house or a car and steal the firearms that aren’t properly locked up. If people were to lock all their firearms up no one could steal them as easily and we wouldn’t have to worry about stolen guns being used in crimes. Americans are faced with a forever growing problem of crime and violence. Our streets have become a war ground where the old people are beaten for their social security checks, young and old women are viciously attacked, teen age kids shoot each other for a so called “piece of turf” to sell drugs, innocent young kids are caught all the time in deadly crossfire.
However the time put in by some not so smart individuals to get rid of the legal possession of fire arms does not address the real problem right now. Today’s gun control activists are a slightly different kind now a days. They claim that gun violence has gotten so bad in the last few years that they think they need to do something about it. They want to see all these criminals disarmed, and want the random violence to stop all together. They have a point to some extent but they are going about this the entirely wrong way.
While creating laws they came up with one that penalizes everyone even the people that haven’t done anything wrong. They are trying to work to pass a law that would take the guns out of the hands of the law-abiding citizens instead of taking them away room the people who have been to jail or people who are just trouble makers. They are going to penalize all of us for stupid people who decided to make bad decisions so they could have more money, or drugs.
This does not address the real problem of criminal activities. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. If we didn’t have this beautiful second amendment we would all be in a hurtful situation right now, because we wouldn’t be able to protect ourselves at all. This topic “the right to bear arms” is always a very hot and touchy object especially around election time because if one person slips up that can cause them to lose their election.
In the past 2 years it has been one of the hottest topics to come up in the court rooms. This subject is so touchy when it comes to elections or debates or even can cost people to loose elections. One of the main reasons that this subject is so touchy because the amount of violence we have on the streets today. If we didn’t have so many crimes this subject wouldn’t have so many problems and this subject wouldn’t be so soft all the time.
